Our Leadership Team collaborates on programs, curriculum, social media and outreach through the practice of listening and following divine guidance. We are dedicated to applying the teachings of A Course in Miracles in every aspect of our community and academy.
REVEREND HELENA ELIAS
Helena’s personal path of healing started with childhood trauma that lead to addictions and finally, to spiritual seeking which now powerfully informs her sessions and guidance. It was the aforementioned trauma that lead Helena to become passionately immersed in the teachings of A Course in Miracles (ACIM), in 2013. In 2018, she enrolled in the Modern Miracles Minister Training program. Once completed, her role shifted into teacher training and eventually part-time co-teaching alongside Lisa in 2019. Helena added another year of training when she participated in the Mastery Program at the Academy, in 2022. Helena is now an ordained Minister, Yoga Teacher, and currently training as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner for trauma healing. Today, Helena offers spiritual counselling, somatic practices and yoga therapy all helping people to heal from the belief in separation and access oneness through a felt sense of the Spirit within.
REVEREND LINDA FUNK
Linda was introduced to A Course in Miracles in 2017 due to a chance meeting with Reverend Lisa Windsor. Lisa extended an invitation to her Monday night drop in group, which immersed Linda into A Course in Miracles. Although the Course was new to Linda it felt very familiar and clearly the next step in her spiritual journey. In 2018 Linda completed the one year Minister Training program with Modern Miracles Academy followed by a one year Mastery program in 2022. A Course in Miracles has provided Linda with a solid spiritual foundation to extend and offer services. As an Ordained Minister, Linda has a background in counselling, energy healing, yogic practices from a two year work residency with Yasodhara Ashram Yoga Centre and currently has a Vibrational Sound practice in Burnaby BC. Linda has two adult children and lives in the Vancouver area of British Columbia.
REVEREND CINDY HOBLEY
Reverend Cindy Hobley first read the text of A Course in Miracles in 1997 and experienced an impactful relationship with it. A lifelong chronic depression had her putting the book back on the shelf for decades but she always felt it would play a significant role in her life eventually. Apparently, she was just waiting for Lisa Windsor and Modern Miracles Academy! (and the willingness and readiness to change her mind about pretty much everything!) After 3+ years of taking the Minister’s Training Program, plus another year of the ACIM Mastery program, Cindy has become an ordained Minister of Metaphysics and is eager and excited to serve and support this community. The miracles just keep coming! Cindy has a particular passion for helping those new to A Course in Miracles and sharing a multitude of parables showing how ACIM can be applied practically in one’s life.
SABINE KEIL
What does a potter have to contribute to a leadership team focused on spiritual growth? Clay seems to be all about form, and making something, and of this world. But for me the experience of making something out of clay is a spiritual process. Going inward to that peaceful place where the world cannot intrude can feel like a challenge for my busy mind. Nothing gets made if the clay is not centred on the wheel. There is no peace if the mind is not centred on the heart. Pottery is one tool, of unlimited resources, Spirit offers me that support my need to express my creativity, my transition from form to the ethereal, and my journey home to Love.
A Course in Miracles has been part of my spiritual journey for a very long time. Just as I pull the clay in and upward, so has ACIM helped speed my journey inward to my heart centre and upward to my spiritual home. To be truly helpful I have learned that joining with others on the Course makes for a smoother and more loving journey on this seemingly bumpy road. Modern Miracles is a home while away from Home, and I hope you will feel the call to join us.
REVEREND YOLANDA SARMIENTO
Yolanda's spiritual journey began with a Catholic upbringing that prompted her to question her concept of God. This exploration led her to establish a strong spiritual foundation through her connection with angels. Later, she embarked on a path of self-discovery through yoga teacher training, meditation, breath work, and introspection.
During a challenging phase known as the "dark night of the soul," Yolanda discovered A Course in Miracles (ACIM), a profound turning point in her journey that resonated deeply and felt like coming home.Yolanda's spiritual growth also culminated in her successful completion of the Minister Training Program. In her role as a teacher, she draws inspiration from her spiritual journey to radiate light and uplift her students daily.
A vital lesson she learned was listening to her inner voice, which guided her to take a sabbatical year for a more profound spiritual experience. As a valued member of the leadership team at Modern Miracles Academy, she continues to share her profound insights and experiences. Today, Yolanda resides near Vancouver, British Columbia, with her beautiful family.

Reverend Lisa Windsor is an ordained spiritual minister, spiritual coach, and A Course in Miracles mentor and instructor. She is the founder of Modern Miracles Academy, a spiritual learning community dedicated to living the teachings of A Course in Miracles. She creates and facilitates courses and programs for spiritual development including an immersive one year Minister Training Program.
Her educational background began with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia. Soon after, Lisa became certified as a life coach and wellness counsellor. Her focus on spirituality led to training and ordination as a spiritual minister specializing in A Course in Miracles. As a spirit-led entrepreneur, Lisa completed an Inner MBA program to deepen the connection between business and spirituality. She is an executive contributor to Brainz Magazine and an author in three collaborative books including Expect Miracles, The Miracle Mindset and We are ALL Healers.
Lisa has studied and practiced A Course in Miracles for over twenty years and is passionate about the practice of true forgiveness. Her deep trust in her inner teacher has led to profound healing and clarity. Lisa is inspired to share the joyful message that we are loved, whole, and eternally safe. Her approach is focused on practical application and open-hearted honesty. Through the teachings of A Course in Miracles, Lisa reveals the miracles that occur when we trust and follow our inner guidance.

In this class, we will explore how open-mindedness is the key to breaking through the clouds that obscure our perception of truth. In A Course in Miracles, the metaphor of clouds represents the dense thoughts and beliefs that hide the brilliance of our inner light—the truth of who we really are. Just as clouds block the sun, our mental patterns block the awareness of God’s love within us.
